Vision Statement of Episcopal Church Women
Adopted by the National Board

Episcopal Church Women - Diocese of Long Island

We are Episcopal Church Women, committed to one another and called to be witnesses for Christ.  Our challenge is to provide a safe place where every woman is free to become the person Christ created her to be.  We are called.  We are different.  We are one body.

What We Do

bulletUnited Thank Offering - A joyful witness to Christ's presence within us by sharing our blessings.  A program of the Episcopal Church for the mission of the whole Church, awarding grants on an annual cycle.

bulletChurch Periodical Club - A World-wide ministry of the printed word.  This national organization furnishes books and magazines to enable the work of the church throughout the world, with a special emphasis on education.

bulletBook of Remembrance - Maintained through donations as memorials to loved ones, this fund is given to special diocesan, domestic and overseas projects on a rotating basis.

bulletMinistry in Action - This is an outreach to help those in need both near and far, encompassing handiwork, service and contributions from the parishes, formerly called Box Work.

bulletSeamen's Church Institute - ECW supports this agency both monetarily and by participating in the "Christmas-at-Sea" program, providing knitted hats, scarves and sweaters for hundreds of seamen.
